Announcing the first Case Management to ARTL software integration
The Automated Registration of Title to Land
(ARTL) is a system developed by Registers of Scotland (RoS). As well as
offering a wide range of benefits to solicitors and their clients of quicker
turnaround of registered transfer of titles, an important part of the ARTL
technology was the potential for computerised case management systems to
interact with ARTL by electronically providing the basic data for the
application to transfer and having this substantially create the application
itself.
Simon Greig of LawWare comments “after
much development work we are very pleased to announce the immediate
availability of the ARTL interface for our LawWare Enterprise – Practice, Case
and Risk Management software. It has been a fascinating project in a number of
ways and on a number of levels. One of the initial challenges was the very
nature of the project - working at a level of security that is very high and it
has been a learning curve for both parties and I commend RoS staff for their
patience and skill. I would also like to pay tribute to Brian O’Neill of The
Styles Bank (a LawWare Business Partner) who has also been of enormous
assistance in helping us to understand what would be the most practical ways of
holding this information - not to mention his gift for converting RoS-speak
into techie-talk”.
“To be the first software supplier to achieve this standard of
co-operative support between a case management system and ARTL is particularly
gratifying. LawWare have been at the forefront of legal software design and
provision for 11 years now and having had the foresight to design an
Internet-ready application like LawWare Enterprise some years ago - it is
rewarding to see the benefit of this demonstrated in such a powerful and
meaningful way. We look forward to continuing to work with RoS to further
refine and indeed develop new system-to system co-operation, so that more
benefits to practitioners and their clients can be delivered in the future. I am
often saying to clients and prospective clients that we are at the end of the
first decade in the 21st Century and IT systems can co-operate. The
‘best-of-breed’ approach was instrumental in directing the course of software
product design and now we live in a world where electronic communications
extend not only to staff and clients but to selected Service Providers also,
and this bodes well for firms looking to achieve more with their IT. LawWare
can certainly help with that”.
Mike Traynor Registers of Scotland’s Director
of Information said; “RoS welcomes LawWare Ltd investment commitment in
integrating ARTL into their case management software product. We believe
that ARTL offers conveyance practitioners significant cost and time benefits in
processing the vast majority of Dealings of Whole applications to the Land
Register, and for those firms that have case management systems their
integration with ARTL should enhance these benefits.”
watersrule, solicitors in Tillicoultry are delighted to be the first firm to
successfully use the LawWare Enterprise to ARTL interface.
Steven Waters, a director of watersrule said :-
“This interface is a
very welcome addition to the range of applications offered by LawWare. By using
information already stored in LawWare, the time required to set up the ARTL
draft application is dramatically reduced. Also, the risk of manually inputting
incorrect information into ARTL is minimised. In short, a very successful
project, with tangible benefits.”
